Justice Pankaj Mithal takes oath as the new CJ of J&K High Court

Justice Pankaj Mithal, on Monday, took oath of office of the Chief Justice of the Common High Court of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh. The oath was administered by the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.

The warrant of appointment was read out by the Registrar General of the High Court and the proceedings of the Oath Ceremony were conducted by Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor, Sh. Nitishwar Kumar.

The appointment of Justice Mithal as Chief Justice of High Court of J&K had been notified vide notification No. K.13021102/2020-US.II dated 31.12.2020 issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.
